Novak Djokovic made an explosive start to his 2019 season, beating Bosnia’s Damir Džumhur 6-1, 6-2 in just 55 minutes to move into the second round at the ATP 250 Qatar ExxonMobil Open.
The World No.1 was imperious from start to finish. He won 81% of first serve points, converted 4 out of 8 break points and denied a single break point opportunity to his opponent.
Praising and applauding his opponent’s masterful performance, Džumhur called Novak ‘an alien’ after the match.
For a place in the quarterfinals of Qatar Open, Novak will face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary on Wednesday.
